In 2024, Independent Brokers Agency (IBA), a family-founded and operated insurance agency based in St. Louis, Missouri, proudly became the first office in Missouri to partner with WalkerHughes Insurance. IBA was founded in 1987 by Joe Wessels with the help and support of his wife, Sandy Wessels. In 2018, Heather Wessels and Mike Swatske assumed operations, and in 2020, ownership of IBA. For over three decades, the agency built a strong reputation by providing personalized services across personal lines, commercial lines, and employee benefits. IBA always focused on people-first principles, ensuring exceptional service and trust in every client interaction. The decision to partner with WalkerHughes was driven by a shared commitment to community, service, and growth.

Apogee Insurance Solutions partnered with WalkerHughes in May of 2025. Founded in 2019, the Apogee team identified a need in the local insurance marketplace by combining thoughtful risk management with a service-driven approach.

The St. Louis office grew once again when the Clark Insurance Agency partnered with WalkerHughes in January of 2025. Founded in the 1950’s as Thies Insurance, the agency has been proudly owned and operated by the Clark family for three generations which is a legacy we are excited to partner with them to carry forward.

With these partnerships, both the Apogee and Clark teams moved into our established WalkerHughes office, and we are thrilled to welcome them and their valued clients aboard.
